Welcome to Camp Trollfjorden - Norwegian Family Camp

Are you looking for an opportunity to expose your kids or grandkids to a fun Norwegian experience? Or perhaps you would like to come (without kids) and enjoy a few days of Norwegian crafts, language, cooking and fellowship? Camp Trollfjorden is held each June at the beautiful Lake Metigoshe Retreat Center near Bottineau ND.

Camp experience includes: Norwegian language classes, folk dancing, folk songs, wonderful Norwegian food will be enjoyed by all. You choose a craft to complete - options include: woodcarving wood chipping, knitting, rosemaling; hardangersøm. and yam carving (you´ll complete a project before you leave!) Plus, lots of wonderful fellowship, daily flag ceremony, bonfire, card parties, etc. There will be a butikk with Norwegian items and candy for sale, too.

Dates: June 6 - 9, 2024 (Thurs - Sun) Cost: $250.00 (18 and older) $200.00 (8-17)

Applications due: May 15, 2024 (first come, first served)

Many lodges have scholarships available for kids & Camp Trollfjorden has grant funds to pay a portion (up to ½) of the kids´ fees (amount depends on # of qualifying children who attend camp).

Open to Sons of Norway District IV members and their children and grandchildren (ages 8 and up) and Sons of Norway Youth Club (ages 16-23) Kids ages 8-15 will be assigned a camp counselor. Adults sleep primarily dormitory style, although there are a few double beds. You may bring your own camper, as well. ($20 camper charge)
